    • The price kind of snuck in there in the end didn't it lol. I was actually on board to some extent thinking, wow, so they streamlined a few basic things into a sweet mlm package. It really does seem like a cool idea, then, the price popped out and voila; instantly on the impossible list. Maybe not for everyone, but its certainly out of my budget, and its not even so much that as much as the fact that I don't think its right to ask for $400 up front, and $49 a month after that, its insane. Its a shame really, because its a great idea destroyed by greediness, and such a blatant overpricing did a lot in ruining the legitimacy for me personally.

    • MyVideoTalk Review

A new member of the forum named Susan Taylor has introduced an mlm opportunity known as MyVideoTalk, and after watching a few introductory videos in reading about the product and its company, I have to say that I find it a little intriguing. MyVideoTalk was founded in 2002 by Team Effort International, and is located in Northern California. Primarily focused on producing  Internet oriented business software, they are well established in several countries such as North America, Europe, South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The company founders are Mel and Amie Gill, both of whom have been involved in the direct selling industry since 1989.

MyVideoTalk offers a relatively unique product that offers a truly more robust ability to communicate online. We all use email, but imagine how much more presentable it might be if your email included a video, and possibly a mini text window highlighting the more important aspects of a presentation, or just key points relative to the subject matter. Many of us use web cams, voice mails on our phones, voip services and texts but what if you could incorporate all of them into one stream of communication?

The argument could be made that you can do all these things already, but honestly, how efficient is it to have to switch between multiple mediums? This product basically provides you with live video streaming for anything, including broadcasts and meetings, customizable email video messages, and on-demand Internet video channels. Video has actually proven to be a very effective marketing strategy mostly because it serves a much better sense of sincerely, allowing people to see your mannerisms, and getting a more direct presentation of what you're offering.

Another thing I like about this concept is that you can actually use the product in the process of recruiting. Nothing beats a truly excellent first impression. One might consider on the other hand however; that most of us probably don't want an entire power points presentation for something mundane, but at the same time, I trust that most people would know the most appropriate way to utilize the product.

The company itself seems to have a customer service issue, which tends to be kind of common for companies that are experiencing a surge of exposure. Several people have written complaints about being unable to cancel their accounts. I'm not sure to what degree of truth there is, but it is enough to warrant a bit of caution. Another major complaint, and one I happen to agree with, is the price tag which comes in at a whopping $399.90 and a monthly reoccurring charge of  $49. That is simply too much money in my opinion, and not just by a few degrees, but by an enormous sum. This will in fact be what I feel the main obstacle to preventing this service from really taking off.

The compensation plan seems a bit shady, and I've read a few conflicting variations of it, but for the sake of discussion, I'll use the most common figures. A $25 Fast Start Retail Bonus is paid on the sales volume generated by your personal sales of the Basic package, in addition to a $100 Fast Start Retail Bonus for the sale of the Business Builder Package. A $25 Team Builder Bonus is paid on the sales volume generated by the sales Studio Packages. This bonus is paid to the first Qualified Team Builder above a personally enrolled representative in the line of sponsorship. The basic idea is similar to any other mlm, and I would recommend going straight to the source for a more detailed rendition of the comp plan.

The official web site can be found here.

    • Hey Chris, somehow missed this post yesterday but catching up this morning. I think overall, there is just some level of advertising that will always be made up of hype, its just the nature of marketing. I was a bit focused on that when I was saying that My Shopping Genie was advertising an idea for free. Ultimately, I really can't argue with the program itself being free, and if its really as good as Yvonne says, that's a pretty damned cool thing. I've been hanging out on these boards for awhile, and we sort of pick apart all mlms, and out of chance, a good majority of them tend to exist in a negative light, but its never on purpose or personal. I can't speak for everyone but many of us just love dissecting and trying to understand the. I don't have any particular suspicions with My Shopping Genie, at least not yet. I have gone as far as to score free samples of different products, so I see no reason I shouldn't download the program and give it a try. If its quality, I'm sure I'll be a bit more open-minded, then I can perhaps focus on the business aspect of it.  Thanks again for the reply sir.

    • Hey yall, I just wanted to say that I actually used My Shopping Genie to find my sister an XBOX360 for her son, and you won't believe how in depth the results are, its nothing like Google Shopping. In my experience, shopping with Google will find you around 15 dollars off on a particular product. That's good, but often times its not in sync with the store, so you go to buy a tennis racket for 10 dollars when the standard market price is 25, and you notice once you actually get to the merchant, its 20-25, not the 10 dollars that Google Shopping displayed. I got the XBOX360 elite slim for $200, and I thought that was insane. Nowhere on Google Shopping could I find a new one for less than $320. The best part of it is that I never spent a dime on the program. Christopher isn't in the least bit exaggerating on how cool the program is and the fact that its free. I'm with you C!

    • Hello WallaceL. I can appreciate the reasonong behind your questions although I think there is still a degree of confusion. Quite rightly there are plenty of good reasons to question the marketing ethics behind any product, and the Internet has has provided us with more than enough evidence of dubious hype. The standard use of up-sells and hidden costs that are rife in affiliate marketing leaves more than a little to be desired. Let me try to answer some of your questions.

Yes the Genie is actually Free for anyone to install and use so that they can start saving time and money shopping on the internet. Anyone could Google 'MyShoppinGenie' and there would be plenty of offers for anyone to install it from any number of registered Distributors, so it is perfectly valid and accurate to say it is Free. That person, with their freely installed Genie will only save time and money, but they have not paid anything to obtain those savings, so I fail to understand why that could be a reason for any hostility. There are plenty of sites giving testimonials of the savings people have made using the Genie but the most effective proof is to install it on your computer, for FREE, and use it find a product you have recently bought on the Internet. You have to select to use it anyway, so you don't have to use it, and can uninstall it at any time.

MyNet Universe does indeed have the goal of having a Genie on every computer in the world and the most effective way of acheiving that goal is through MLM/Network Marketing/Referral Marketing. We are all far more likely to do something if we are recommended to do so by a friend or someone we know. The standard MLM requires you pay a registration fee, undertake a monthly product purchase volume and to sell product. In exactly the same way, if you want to EARN money from the Genie then you need to register as a Distributor, for which there is a moderate $199 fee to purchase right to distribute the software license and a monthly maintenance fee , again a modest $34.95, which represents very good value for the services provided. To build your Genie business you don't have to sell anything, you can just concentrate on giving away Genies, for FREE. If you had 100 Genies, installed FREE by the end users, being used regularly to browse and shop then it would be reasonable to expect an monthly income of around $300.

Most Distributors don't just give away free Genies but try to build an organistion of fellow Distributors by finding people who can see the value of the opportunity and are prepared to invest what is a relatively small sum to start up a business. Commissions are paid on selling the rights to distribute the software license. That is no different from any other MLM business, if people want to EARN money, rather than just SAVE money, then there is a fee to be paid. If your 100 member downline were all active distibutors you would be generating a number of generous commssions and bonuses. My sponsor, Simon Brookes who lives in the UK joined the business in May 2010 and is now the top earner in My Shopping Genie having earned over $360,000 in his first year.

I'm sure that it is possible to pick holes in any business and the Genie, like any good business, is evolving as it grows. The history of the company over last four years and the development of their technology bodes well for the continuing success of the business and, maybe, it is not too big a goal to think that there will be a Genie on every computer in the world in the not too distant future. Why not?

    • July 14, 2011 6:16 AM PDT
    • Hey Chris, thank you kindly for correcting my info, as there always seems to be a few details that are outdated or incorrect. I have definitely heard my fair share of horror stories in regard to these types of programs, but not so much My Shopping Genie specifically. I don't know who exactly to blame for the following complaint, but I'd be willing to bet it would be distributed evenly between people simply chatting, and maybe the company itself. Anytime a company or someone endorsing a company emphasizes on the word "free" the image of a string literally appears in my mind. It could be that in the last 50 years, our culture has really gone out of its way to prove that nothing is free (and honestly, it's generally true) and make us cynical, but either way, few things seem to break the mold on this. We talk about giving away products, and again, emphasize on the term "free" but what we are really giving is a test run. A version of the software, one that doesn't allow us to distribute it, which would be possible if it really were free.

I read that My shopping Genie had the primary goal of ensuring that it would be found on every computer in the world, and if that really were the case, there would be no distribution fee. In fact, I would go as far as to say that the maintenance fee, and the initial purchase necessary for the distribution rights are really the only reason why it isn't on every computer already, if in fact its as good as they say it is. Anyway, I feel that its in this emphasizing that makes people so hostile once they realize that there IS charge. If they let go of the word "free' and were a bit more direct in the advertizements and showed the savings you get by using the search engine, and the cut you might get from others searching the web, it might come across a bit smoother. The other thing bothering me is that I would like to know exactly what the transfer rate is for my 100 man downline. Lets say I have 100 people that have all paid for the software, and they are all searching the web today, having started at 7am. Excluding any purchases they make, and the fees they paid to join. How much money will I receive by Thursday of next week? The reason I ask is because I want to know if it will exceed the $34 monthly fee. I do appreciate that it is set for life, but still, it just negates the "free" to an almost infuriating degree.

Now please don't misunderstand, I do realize that the ability to search the web and find the best deals is "free" and I generally think that is cool, but the way its advertized, and the way many reps talk about it, it seems like false advertising. Anyway, I just wanted to add that to the conversation, and definitely mean no disrespect, nor is my intention to somehow debunk or discredit My Shopping Genie. If anything, I am complaining about marketing and Advertising.

    • Excellent and balanced revue, with a few of the issues mentioned having changed with time and product development. The Genie has been in the public domain for four years but was only marketed as a MLM opportunity from 2010, with instant success, using the original 'legacy' platform mentioned in the second paragraph which only worked on Windows platforms. In May 2011, following the proven success of the legacy Genie worldwide, the company launched the new web-based Genie App which is installed as an add-on or extension to Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Express browsers and now works on both Windows and Mac platforms.

The New Genie appears as a Genie in the right hand bottom corner of the screen which provides access to the shopping comparison site and the Daily Deal site, similar to Groupon, and it can be branded to promote your business.

Of course negative comments can be found posted on the internet about any business and My Shopping Genie is not immune to that. Quite simply the Genie is free to install and use and anyone using it will save time and money browsing and shopping on the internet. To be able to give away Genies, and to start creating an income, it is essential to register as a Distributor. It costs $199 to buy the software license, and there is a $34.95 a month maintenance fee, which is fixed for life, to cover website upgrades and costs, access to a video email and conferencing ficility and other valuable benefits including an in-house back office global tracking system monitoring all browsing and Affiliate activity related to the Genies a Distributor has given away. As a Distributor you are also entitled to sell Genie software licenses to build a network of fellow Distributors. This is no different from any other MLM business and the European Court declared My Shopping Genie to be a legitimate business following questions raised in the Irish Republic.

It is true that to make an income from the My Shopping Genie it is neccessary to register as a Distributor by buying the right to give away Genies and/or sell the MyNet Universe software license. It is equally true that anyone who has been given the Genie will be able to save time and money if they choose to use it, and I was always told that a $ saved is a $ earned. Recent changes to the Board of MyNet Universe include Mark Levesque becominig President in the place of David Freed and the appointment of Evelyn Hopson as CEO.

    • Well, there has been some chatter as of late about a relatively new MLM called My Shopping Genie. By all accounts, My Shopping Genie has had a pretty smooth reception as far as I can tell. The main product  is an innovative shopping tool that quickly finds the best bargains for various goods online. This enables shoppers to save money by scanning sites like eBay, Amazon, Costco, and Walmart. According to My Shopping Genie, the program was developed over the course of 3 years and has since been released to the public for free. The program managed to make the broadcasting roster of CNN via an underground shopper named Sue Goldstein, a woman considered to be "The Diva of Discounts" due to over 30 years of assisting consumers make better choices on media outlets such as Good Morning America, the Today show, and even Oprah.

The way it works after it is installed on your PC is that you search for a product on any of the major search engines such as Google, MSN or Yahoo. A toolbar will open at the bottom of your screen with links to the best prices on the product you did the search for. For the distributor, a free web site is issued which allows them to distribute My Shopping Genie to others for free. With each download of the tool from your own web site, there is a 95% chance that person will shop for a product, which in turn will generate money for you based on their clicks and purchases. Another plus is that it can be used virtually anywhere in the world, so no reason to limit your base of operations to your native country.

Now there are some sources on the Internet that claim My Shopping Genie is a scam, although having never been a member, I am not qualified to say what is true and what is not in that regard, but in the interest of being balanced in the information I find, I'll simply include those negative aspects, and let anyone who has more experience comment/correct my information.

Some opposing parties have claimed that My Shopping Genie started out as an email scam, in that it  sends out emails to prospective victims inviting them to join MyShoppinggenie. Once they subscribe, they're given a number of affiliate links which can be distributed to others, and these links will contain products available for purchase at Amazon, or Ebay. Once those people you emailed begin purchasing these products, you receive a percentage of the commission. The scam part is that it allegedly requires a subscription fee before you're capable of downloading the software which is said to be the sum of  $199 or $29 per month. The nature of the scam is that it is spread through the promise "free software", that is essentially free, until it actually comes time to make some money.

As I stated before, this review is not claiming that My Shopping Genie is a scam, only that there is a group of people claiming that it is. I write reviews based on what I can find on the Internet, and I do my best to dismiss groundless accusations, but still like to reflect on the reception any new company has had since launch. It is entirely possible that the reports of it being a scam are simply not true, and the result of intentionally negative press created by a direct competitor. You be the judge.

    • Heya Jeroqui, welcome back my friend. I did check out a few of the companies that have the same name, interesting stuff. I'm always kind of surprized that cigarette companies are still doing well when people are generally pretty well informed about what it does to you. Belcorp seems pretty cool, I am wondering how they will handle the company immersion without any kind of legal issues regarding their name.

    • June 3, 2011 4:00 AM PDT
    • Hello to you Wallace!

I have much catching up to do because I have been away, but what a very interesting company you have brought up to us. It pleases me greatly to see our Latin American friends coming closer and moving forward in the world. I have noticed in my attempt at finding information on my search engine that there are a few companies that share this name, and some of them with not such good reputation. There is a new site I had found that attempted to collect feedback on the Belcorp of this thread and it was clear that there was not yet any left. It is difficult to get reviews for what have previously been foreign companies, but I have the feeling this Belcorp will turn out very good in the American states. I am not sure there is so many places for more make up and skin products, but so far I have seen many surprises in successful companies. Another such Belcorp is one that makes Cigarettes! So hopefully we will see some kind of deviation in name, when they launch and get started in America.

    • June 2, 2011 2:27 AM PDT
    • Anyone ever hear of Belcorp? Apparently I have overlooked this company anytime I glance at the mlm frontier, but somehow they have existed in some form or another for the last 40 years. They are officially known as Belcorp USA, and originally began in Peru back in 1987. The company recently set up shop in San, Francisco CA at the end of the last decade, and have plans to expand across North America. You can take a look at their web site here http://www.belcorp.biz/en/wearebelcorp/index.html .

With so many new mlms springing from the well while simultaneously exiting equally as fast each year, its not only hard to lose track of who seems to be successfully moving at a constant pace. Belcorp actually maintains over 800,000 reps and employees across 15 different countries; though you might never know it since there hasn't been much talk about them at all this year. Most of the company's own North American web sites are still in development, and understandably, the deeper I go, the more content is in Spanish and other Latin languages, though I'm certain that as time passes there will be more English information available.

The company has amassed corporate sales of $600 million worldwide, and remain the third largest cosmetic company in Latin America. You may have heard of some of their product lines, which include L’Bel Paris, Esika, and Cyzone. Product types include personal care products such as: facial and body treatments, make-up, and various fragrances, which are sold directly to customers by a network of over 650,000 consultants via product catalogues. Like most companies of this type, Belcorp offers products designed for specific uses, some of which include damaged hair and skin. "Ligne Experte" is a shampoo designed to repair broken hair follicles which are often severed due to hair devices such as irons, dryers and even chemicals. According to Belcorp, this product can repair and fortify hair fibers, restoring them from brittle, to healthy and strong.

Another product covers the anti-aging industry, and by now I definitely feel as though it qualifies for the title of industry. That product is called "Regression Body" a skin wrap said to prevent the aging by wrapping the body in a hydroelastic film..... I am having a hard time with this one, because my mind is showing me a giant body condom, like the one used by Leslie Nielsen and Priscilla Presley in The Naked Gun. It could be effective, but it seems awfully gimmicky in its description.

The company hasn't officially launched in the United States yet, and there is no information regarding when the actual compensation plan and business model is released, let alone the contents. One might presume since the company is well established and seems to be respected that it will be a solid investment for anyone looking to break free of the traditional companies that have consistently dominated the market. I don't know how much room there is for yet another cosmetic and wellness product company, but one comfort for entrepreneurs is that there will always be one, no matter what part of the world, or what shape its economy is in.

    • Chris,

I asked the below questions to someone else in another forum, and now I would like you to please respond...I would like to get your opinion!! Hopefully you don't mind.

May I please ask you two questions? Do you think the math numbers from the below link with respect to "The Customer Advantage" are accurate, fake, or ?

When I looked at the numbers and for what I can see, if "The Customer Advantage" pay plan shows that....I guess someone is taking a lots of innocent people for a ride on a hype. (consider those results based upon TCA numbers). Regardless of who owns the link below or WHO did it...ins't he telling the truth about TCA numbers below or not? It's OK to have an adult discussion, we are human beings, lets HELP everyone in here including me. I need clarification from your side now OK.

An extra point here but, no need to discuss (unless you want to). The other issue is about using the name of your "closest relative" to capitalize any business. To me, (on my opinion) that is just pure wrong but, again everyone has a different heart when comes to yourfather, mother, etc....death...that's just me, I would NEVER do that, bad Karma.

      http://www.slideshare.net/LinkvaarkFraudHunter/the-customer-advantage-magic-numbers-or-funny-money?from=ss_embed

Looking forward to hear your response about my two questions above. Thanks.

PS: By the way, I was reading and searching about John Milanoski and his "TCA" deal, and found those links on the web. If they are NOT the truth, let me know ASAP! But sooooo far, based on the TCA comp plan numbers.......the writing is on the wall, unless you show me something different using TCA numbers. Thanks again.

      [/quote]

Although I don't have any personal experience with you or your business history except that you seem to be a polarizing force in the industry, this has to be one of the classiest responses I've ever seen to a negative post.

      Kudos Mr. Gilmer.

    • Dear RegenicaScam,

So nice of you to criticize while hiding behind a screen name. Especially one that is spelled wrong. I would like to point out that as people age they learn from their past. They grow and they become better people than they were when they were younger.
Thank you for getting the word out by announcing the launch of a great new company. Obviously you have checked out the opportunity and even took the time to screen print and record some of it. It sounds like you could benefit from an evening with the product. If you provide me your address I would be happy to send you a sample of RegenErect as you appear to need a more constructive use of your time. My gift you.

It is proven that most people in network marketing who complain that they have failed and the industry is corrupt are those that have not succeeded in their endeavors. They are quick to blame owners and leaders rather than their own lack of time, commitment, trainability and effort. Not every opportunity is right for every person at the time it is presented to them so if this company is not a fit for you...I wish you complete success in the one that is.

The management team assembled at Regeneca is top notch and I am honored and lucky to be working with such dynamic group of people. Furthermore, It is proven that with any good presidency...while one person is at the helm, ultimately it is their advisers, staff and cabinet that truly make them great. Mr. Gilmer is currently aligned with a fantastic team of leaders ready to grow a long term company and offer a great opportunity for those ready to see it.

I will leave you with one final thought… a quote... "People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it!!"

      Wishing you continued success!

    • “Before opportunity crowns you with Great Success, it usually tests your mettle through adversity and failure.”

Adversity and failure provide the resistance necessary to develop the strength to overcome great obstacles. This strength consists of self-confidence, perseverance, and most importantly, self-knowledge. For if you ever encountered a setback, as I have encountered so many and learned from them all, it is a clue to a personal weakness and admittedly I have mine, like every man.

While you may have been hasty in judging me, I am a competitor and like me or not, you may have been too timid in your vision of what has been created with great minds and ever burning Entrepreneurial Spirit like all of Regeneca distributors and others in this industry that I am in love with.

Let my post be an inspiration to those who believe in the power of believing and beginning anew after learning from errors. At the same time let it be your guide to understanding where you may have miss-stepped, like I have, and which qualities you need to cultivate your inner thoughts.  No one rejoices in disappointment, it is like a crab trying to get out of a trap, being pulled back in by those who cannot and will not make conscious changes. If you are success-conscious, you can turn your situation into a chance for improving your character, an opportunity you otherwise would have missed.

This is what I have learned to do while living life, it’s the ability to get back up and lead and like a champion, the inner voice that hopes and feels, “I have learned and I can do better” because of my experiences.

       Best Always,

      Adam Vincent Gilmer

    • Regenica was marketing a product called "Regenerect" - a Male Herbal Erectile Stimulant.

I do not know if it is still available through their website.

The companies name is actually "Regeneca" not "Regenica".

    • In the words of the immortal Ricky Bobby, "Dear Lord baby Jesus, lyin' there in your ghost manger, just lookin' at your Baby Einstein developmental videos, learnin' 'bout shapes and colors. I would like to thank you for bringin' me and my mama together, and also that my kids no longer sound like retarded gang-bangers, and for bringing ADAM VINCENT GILMER back to the world of network marketing."

Adam Gilmer, where have you been since Travelogia? Looks like you've been working with Regenica on some erectile dysfunction products.  I can't make heads or tails of it but I'm so glad you're back because the MLM world is just not the same without you.

    • So far, I don't see anyone having any Visalus complaints here.

Even on other sites, I don't see anything but people pointing fingers because the company is an MLM, but no legitimate complaints. Which is awesome.

The company is still growing strong.

Ranked today again in the top 5 for the last six months on MLMRankings.com

    • It's tremendously important to consider Veritas_unfallen's point about people underestimating what it takes. I myself have not made an attempt because I am more interested in studying companies than participating. I know there is a great deal of effort, time, and patience in getting an MLM business off the ground, and generating positive reviews reinforces the ability to do so long term. Visalus complaints seem to be in the middle with almost every Visalus review I read. That is to say that there are some legitimate complaints, but the bulk of them seem to be from unsuccessful prospects.

One of the negative Visalus reviews I read was from a woman that chose not to participate in the program when it was offered from a friend. She described being tricked into thinking she was babysitting and ended up at a Visalus recruitment meeting. She left having not joined Visalus to the disappointment of her Visalus-affiliated friend, whom then asked for the phone number of one of the woman's other friends so that she could attempt to recruit her. When the woman refused, the Visalus-affiliated friend got upset and snapped at her.

To make a long story short, the Visalus-affiliated friend eventually contacted the woman again after some time had passed to offer an apology in the form of a wedding gift. Just before the woman's wedding, the friend offered up $1000 to get the woman involved with Visalus, as the gift! When the woman once again refused, her Visalus-affiliated friend snapped and ended the "friendship", while also not showing up at the wedding. The woman and her husband later found out that the Visalus affiliated couple was a few recruits away from acquiring a new BMW, provided by Visalus.

Stories like these are undoubtedly unpleasant, and they don't offer much in terms of making Visalus reviews or MLM companies as a whole; look good. The problem is that you can't blame the company simply because some distributors have such a shady sense of business morality, and Visalus complaints or any other complaints based on the same type of scenario are prevalent on the Internet. The complaints are certainly worthy of the shame they entail, but they can't be the criteria for judging the validity of a company's product, or business structure. It seems to be the distributors in most MLM company that are most worthy of criticism.

    • So far, Visalus is just another network marketing company pushing its reps to sell sell sell. Visalus complaints are, like any other good doobie MLM, or network company, abundant and varied, but to be taken with a grain of salt in relation to the fact that every company in this genre ticks off one consumer or another. No government actions against Visalus (YET) lol either... give them time

Here's some Better Business Bureau info at least, and if you're looking for complaints just google it and read away
